Ankit Gurjar murder case: DIG submitted a report to Director General Jail. Departmental inquiry revealed negligence by jail personnel

The negligence of jail staff has been a major issue in the Tihar Jail departmental investigation into the murder of Ankit Gurujar. The DIG Jail began investigating the case after the murder. On Monday, the DIG Jail submitted a detailed report on the investigation to the Director-General.

Sandeep Goyal, Jail Director General, stated that the department will take action against those who have been negligent. Gurjar was discovered unconscious in his cell, while his two accomplices were also found injured.

Mahmood Pracha, Sharik Nisar, and Sharik Nisar filed a petition in support of the family claiming that Gurjar was being harassed. Because Gurjar was unable to meet the growing demand for money from jail workers on an ongoing basis. As part of the conspiracy, he was also murdered. It was also considered a crime of violence by the Delhi High Court.

Initial investigations revealed that Gurjar had hit the Deputy Superintendent. The security personnel then beat him. Officials at Jail claimed that Ankit’s phone had been found the mobile phone. He was then transferred to another cell. He became angry during this time. Jail personnel sent him to a separate cell. His body was discovered the following day. Four jail personnel, including the Deputy superintendent of Jail, were suspended in this case and eight others were transferred from jail number 3 to another jail.
